WANA (Oct 03) – In response to the G7’s recent statement, Esmail Baqaei, the new spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, denounced the group’s “biased and irresponsible” stance on developments in West Asia. He declared, “If the G7 is genuinely concerned about peace and security in the region, it must utilize its leverage to put an end to the ongoing aggressions of the Israeli regime.”

Baqaei described Iran’s missile strikes targeting Israeli military and security sites as “a necessary response” to the occupying regime’s actions, asserting that it is a legitimate exercise of self-defense. He condemned the use of threats and sanctions against Iran, emphasizing that such tactics will not deter the Iranian people’s resolve.

Reiterating Iran’s commitment to safeguarding its national security, Baqaei pointed to “irresponsible interventions” from extra-regional players, particularly the United States, as primary contributors to instability in the region. He urged the G7 to take immediate action, stating, “The G7 must act decisively to end the genocide of Palestinians and halt Israeli aggressions against Lebanon, Syria, and other countries in the region.”

Furthermore, Baqaei stressed the “unequivocal responsibility” of G7 nations, especially the United States, in exacerbating insecurity in West Asia through their extensive military, financial, and political support for aggressors. He warned, “The consequences of this approach will have dire implications for peace and stability both regionally and beyond.”
